£35,000 – £45,000 DOE + Bonus + Pension + Life Insurance + Study Support

About the Role

We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join a growing business with a large multi-site operation. This role will support the production of accurate financial reporting, ensuring the integrity of the accounts while contributing to continuous improvements across finance processes.

You will work closely with internal stakeholders, supporting financial decision-making and gaining exposure across 300+ trading locations, as well as involvement in acquisitions and ongoing business growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including reviewing GL accounting and posting journals where required
  • Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, identifying discrepancies and potential issues
  • Review of management accounts across 300+ trading locations
  • Conduct ongoing analytical reviews to improve accuracy and identify errors
  • Support the preparation of statutory accounts, VAT returns, and corporation tax returns
  • Assist with the annual external audit and liaise with auditors
  • Support new acquisitions and integration into the finance function
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects aimed at improving financial reporting efficiency
  • Support Profit Centre Managers with the production of annual forecasts
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and support with financial queries

About You

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
  • High attention to detail with a logical and methodical approach
  • Confident communicator, able to present financial information clearly
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Proactive and able to work independently
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal stakeholders
  • Good Excel skills (reporting and analysis focused)
