For our location in Milton Keynes we are looking for a
Assistant Management Accountant (m/f/d)
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team. This role is ideal for an ambitious finance professional looking to further develop their management accounting experience while supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting, month-end processes, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial information, supporting audit requirements, and contributing to efficient finance operations across the business.

Your tasks
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset Register and prepare/post monthly depreciation journals.
- Assist with month-end close activities, including preparing and posting journals.
- Prepare and post month-end accruals.
- Maintain the prepayments schedule and process associated journals.
- Update, prepare, and distribute internal management reports.
- Prepare VAT returns for review by the Finance Manager.
- Support month-end reporting and submissions to the Group Finance team.
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are accurate and supported.
- Play a key role in the annual external audit process, providing schedules and supporting documentation.
- Assist with the year-end financial reporting process.
- Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, driving greater efficiency, accuracy, and risk reduction.
- Take responsibility for the day-to-day administration of the company vehicle fleet, including coordinating vehicle orders and deliveries, maintaining fleet records, administering speeding tickets, parking fines, and other vehicle-related matters, and acting as the first point of contact for fleet administration queries.
- Provide support across the finance function and undertake additional duties as required.

Your profile
Essential
- AAT qualified or currently studying towards ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional qualification (or equivalent relevant experience).
- Minimum of three years' experience within a finance role, including exposure to month-end processes and management accounting activities.
- Experience preparing VAT returns and understanding of UK VAT.
- Experience using ERP or accounting systems (SAP experience would be advantageous).
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and manipulate financial data.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
