About the Role

We are currently seeking to recruit a highly motivated and proactive individual to join our Finance Department as an Assistant Management Accountant at our Castleford site, reporting to the Finance Manager.

This position is offered on a fixed-term contract from December 2026 until the end of February 2028.

The role will support the Finance Manager in delivering an effective and accurate Management and Financial Reporting function to the Group and internally. A key focus will be the timely and accurate provision of weekly and monthly financial information, alongside supporting period-end processes, budgeting, forecasting and cost control.

This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accounting professional looking to develop their experience within management accounting and gain exposure across all Company sites.

Responsibilities

  • Produce weekly cost control analysis and reviews.
  • Assist in maintaining the asset register.
  • Support business partnering activities across the business.
  • Prepare and post accurate journals to support the Finance team.
  • Assist with the period-end close and preparation of management accounts.
  • Prepare, reconcile and analyse Balance Sheet reconciliations.
  • Assist in the production of annual budgets and quarterly reforecasts.
  • Support the preparation and validation of reports as part of the period-end close.
  • Ensure all Finance department deadlines are met, providing flexibility during key reporting periods.
  • Ensure Company financial procedures and internal controls are effectively applied at all times.
  • Contribute to the continued successful delivery of audit requirements.
  • Work in accordance with Company Health & Safety policies, procedures and management systems.

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified accountant or currently working towards an accountancy qualification.
  • Strong computer literacy, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Previous experience within a management accounting, financial reporting or similar Finance role would be advantageous.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis and Balance Sheet reconciliations would be beneficial.
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing or multi-site environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
