The Role

We are looking for an Assistant / Management Accountant to support the financial performance and operational effectiveness of the agency through accurate financial reporting, analysis and financial administration. Working closely with the Finance Director, this role plays an important part in the month-end process, budgeting, forecasting, revenue management and financial controls across the business.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Part-qualified ACCA or CIMA
  • 3+ years’ experience in a finance or accounting role
  • Experience supporting month-end and management accounts preparation
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with financial data
  • Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with non-finance stakeholders
  • Proactive, collaborative and eager to learn
  • Experience with finance and reporting systems

Desirable

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Experience working in a professional services, agency or consultancy environment
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting
  • Understanding of project accounting, WIP and revenue recognition
  • Previous experience using Agresso software or similar

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Support the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
  • Prepare journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis
  • Support client billing, revenue reporting and work-in-progress management
  • Monitor cash flow, aged debt and support credit control activities
  • Produce financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
  • Support year-end audit activities and statutory reporting requirements
  • Support internal group reporting requirements
  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes, controls and reporting
  • Support profitability tracking by analysing and producing reports on timesheet data
  • Build effective working relationships with colleagues across the business and provide day-to-day finance support
