Assistant Management Accountant
Milton Keynes
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience
Robert Walters are delighted to be partnering with a successful global organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their growing finance team in Milton Keynes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious finance professional looking to develop their management accounting experience within a young, ambitious and high-performing finance team.
You will work closely with commercial and operational stakeholders, providing meaningful financial insight to support business decisions, while gaining valuable exposure to senior management. The Role
As Assistant Management Accountant, you will play an important role within the finance function, supporting accurate reporting, analysis and financial control across multiple entities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparing monthly management accounts, including P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, across multiple entities.
- Providing insightful analysis of gross margins and overhead variances against budget and forecast.
- Working closely with commercial and operational teams to provide financial guidance and improve business visibility.
- Taking ownership of Balance Sheet reconciliations, including invoice discounting activities.
- Supporting the development and enhancement of accounting systems, processes and controls.
- Providing divisional and group analysis, alongside supporting wider finance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Preparing working papers for statutory accounts and supporting the annual audit process.
- Calculating, reconciling and submitting VAT returns to HMRC.

About You
We are looking for someone who is keen to develop their career within management accounting and enjoys working collaboratively with stakeholders across the business.
You will ideally have:
- Early stages of ACCA/CIMA/ACA - study support available
- Strong academic credentials and a genuine aptitude for finance and accounting.
- Experience working in finance teams
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and excellent organisation
- Confident communication skills and the ability to work with finance and non-finance stakeholders
- A proactive, commercially minded approach and a genuine desire to develop
- Ambition to build a long-term career
