Assistant Management Accountant + Study Support | Consumer Brand Scale-up | London/Hybrid

Harmonic is delighted to be exclusively partnering with a rapidly scaling consumer products business in its search for an Assistant Management Accountant. This innovative, VC-backed brand has experienced exceptional growth, reaching c. £50m turnover through expanding into major retailers (think Tesco, Sainsburys etc) With international expansion on the horizon, there has never been a more exciting time to join the business.

The Role

Reporting to the #1 in Finance, you'll take ownership of the Accounts Receivable function while supporting the wider month-end process, working closely with an experienced Finance team. As the business continues to grow its retail presence and expand internationally, you'll play a key role in improving financial processes, driving efficiencies and supporting the evolution of a modern finance function, working closely with systems and AI as well as outsourced support. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to broaden their management accounting experience, with exposure to month-end activities, finance transformation projects, and the implementation of a new ERP system.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Accounts Receivable function, managing key retail accounts and resolving invoice queries.
  • Support month-end activities, including accruals, prepayments and payroll journals.
  • Assist with VAT submissions, HMRC checks and other financial reporting tasks.
  • Oversee the outsourced finance team and collaborate with AP and AR colleagues.
  • Support the implementation of NetSuite or similar system and finance process improvements.
  • Monitor and improve finance processes to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external retail partners.
  • Provide ad hoc support to the #1 in Finance and wider finance team

What We Need to See (Essential)

  • Previous experience in an Assistant Management Accountant, Senior Accounts Receivable or Credit Control role with exposure to month-end processes.
  • Highly organized, comfortable managing multiple things at once.
  • Part-qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or actively studying towards a professional accounting qualification.

What We’d Like to See (Bonus)

  • Previous experience working with major retail customers.
  • NetSuite experience, or involvement in an ERP implementation like D365 would be beneficial.
  • Past experience in a consumer goods, FMCG, retail, fashion, apparel or food and drink business.

Package

  • Salary: £45,000-£50,000 + Study Support
  • Location: Central London, hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days from home)
