The Role:
As Assistant Management Accountant, you will support the finance team in delivering accurate financial reporting and maintaining strong financial controls. You will play a key role in the group's cash and bank reconciliation processes, assist with month-end activities, and contribute to continuous improvements in the accuracy and efficiency of finance processes.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations for designated areas, investigating differences and providing supporting analysis where required.
- Own the bank reconciliation process across the Group’s bank accounts, ensuring cash is matched accurately and in a timely manner, including across systems and payment providers.
- Assist in maintaining accurate cash reporting and contribute to improvements in the efficiency and reliability of reporting processes.
- Work with colleagues across the business to investigate and resolve reconciliation differences and process issues.
- Support the year-end audit process by preparing information and responding to queries as required.
- Prepare and post accruals and prepayments to support month-end reporting and management accounts preparation.
- Support Finance Business Partners with budget and forecast preparation.
- Maintain process documentation and support the identification and implementation of process and control improvements.
- Be proactive during daily tasks to support process improvements, flagging key risks to management in a timely manner.
- Support on ad hoc projects and business initiatives as required.
Who we’re looking for:
- Experience in a finance or management accounting role would be beneficial, ideally within retail, FMCG, or a fast-paced consumer business.
- An analytical mindset, with an interest in interpreting data and presenting it clearly.
- Good Excel skills, with a willingness to develop these further; experience with ERP systems (e.g., Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) would be advantageous.
- Good communication and stakeholder skills, with a collaborative approach.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with other teams, including IT, to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Well organized, able to manage priorities and work to deadlines.
