Assistant Manager

Location: London
Job Type: Full-time

At Hagen, our Assistant Managers play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of the bars. Working alongside the General Manager, you'll help lead the team, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and ensure our high standards are maintained every day.

What you'll be doing

  • Supporting the General Manager with the daily operation of the bar.
  • Leading shifts and ensuring smooth, efficient service.
  • Coaching, motivating, and developing the team on the shop floor.
  • Delivering exceptional hospitality and leading by example.
  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members.
  • Helping to manage rotas, labour, stock, and ordering.
  • Maintaining outstanding standards of coffee quality, food safety, cleanliness, and presentation.
  • Monitoring store performance and helping to achieve sales and operational targets.
  • Resolving customer queries professionally and confidently.
  • Taking ownership of the café in the General Manager's absence.

  • Previous supervisory or management experience in hospitality or retail.
  • A natural leader who enjoys developing and supporting others.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive, positive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Commercial awareness and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Flexible to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
