Role Description
The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in London, supporting daily operations. This role will assist in supervising staff, managing schedules, and ensuring consistent, high-quality customer service throughout the store. The Assistant Manager will help oversee merchandising, stock levels, and product displays, and will collaborate with the Store Manager to meet sales targets and maintain operational standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include handling customer queries and escalations, coordinating with suppliers, supporting staff training, and ensuring compliance with food safety and health regulations. The role also involves contributing to promotional activities and helping to create a welcoming, efficient, and well-organized environment for customers and team members.

- Experience in retail, hospitality, or food service environments, preferably in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to resolve issues calmly and professionally.
- Proven ability to support staff management, including scheduling, training, and day-to-day coordination.
- Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations in a food retail setting.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail in merchandising and stock control.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment, including evenings, weekends, and peak trading periods.
- Ability to use point-of-sale systems and basic office software; numeracy skills for handling cash and monitoring sales.
- Enthusiasm for gourmet food, fresh produce, and creating memorable customer experiences; previous new-store opening experience is a plus.
