Assistant Manager – The Tivoli, Cambridge
Fast-paced. Big personality. Lots going on. Never boring.
The Tivoli is not your average hospitality venue.
Across five floors, we bring together two street-food kitchens, four bars, two 9-hole indoor golf courses, a shuffleboard basement, private event and screening spaces, and a rooftop terrace overlooking Jesus Green.
We host everything from busy weekend services and big sporting moments to private parties, corporate events, celebrations and everything in between. No two shifts are quite the same — and that's exactly how we like it.
We're looking for an Assistant Manager who loves the buzz of a busy venue, enjoys being around people and knows how to make things happen.
The role
This isn't a role where you'll be hiding in the office.
You'll be right in the middle of the action; leading from the front, supporting your team, keeping service flowing and making sure our guests have a brilliant time.
You'll help run a large, lively and constantly changing venue, working closely with the General Manager and wider management team to keep everything running smoothly.
One minute you might be jumping into a busy service, the next you're helping deliver an event, solving a problem, coaching a team member or making sure the bars, kitchens and activities are all firing on all cylinders.
It's fast-paced, but it's fun. We want someone who gets energy from that.

What you'll be doing
- Leading and motivating a large, diverse hospitality team
- Being visible on the floor and setting the standard for great service
- Helping deliver consistently brilliant guest experiences
- Supporting busy food and drink services across multiple areas of the venue
- Keeping the team organised, energised and ready for whatever the day throws at us
- Supporting events, activations, sporting occasions and private bookings
- Coaching and developing team members so they can grow with us
- Managing labour, stock and day-to-day operational costs
- Maintaining excellent health, safety and hygiene standards
- Helping drive sales and commercial performance
- Working with suppliers, partners and the wider team to bring events and ideas to life
- Jumping in wherever you're needed — because in hospitality, things don't always go to plan!
Who we're looking for
We're looking for someone with solid hospitality management experience who is ready to step up, take ownership and have some fun along the way.
You'll probably be someone who:
- Thrives in a busy, high-volume hospitality environment
- Is confident leading large teams and isn't afraid to get stuck in
- Naturally brings energy, positivity and personality to a shift
- Knows what great service looks like — and how to get a team delivering it
- Is organised enough to keep multiple moving parts under control
- Understands food, drinks, stock, labour and the commercial side of hospitality
- Can stay calm when the venue is absolutely flying
- Enjoys developing people and bringing the best out of a team
- Is proactive, commercially minded and loves finding ways to make things better
- Wants to build a long-term career in hospitality, rather than simply looking for their next job
