Salary - £31,000 - £35,000 + Bonus

Located in Kingswood, The Wishing Well is a busy, family-friendly pub with plenty going on. With Vue Cinema Bristol right opposite, Wick Golden Valley Nature Reserve just a short drive away and a fantastic food and drink offer, we're a popular destination for families, friends and local customers.

Our carvery is a real highlight, serving three succulent meat options alongside crispy roasties, fresh vegetables and plenty of gravy — giving customers a great reason to keep coming back.
We're also home to a Wacky Warehouse soft play area, making us a popular choice for families, while our beer garden provides the perfect spot for customers to relax when the sun is shining.
With free Wi-Fi, a large car park and a fantastic drinks offer, there's plenty to keep customers coming back whatever the occasion.
What’s the opportunity?
As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of The Wishing Well, supporting the General Manager and helping to lead the team, drive standards and grow the business.
You’ll:
- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the pub.
- Take ownership of shifts and confidently lead the team in the GM's absence.
- Lead, coach and develop the team, helping people grow and perform at their best.
- Maintain consistently high standards across service, food, drinks, cleanliness and customer experience.
- Help deliver an outstanding experience for families, regular customers and new visitors.
- Support the team to deliver consistently great carvery and food service.
- Help drive sales and maximise opportunities across food, drinks and key trading occasions.
- Make the most of busy weekends, school holidays and family-focused periods.
- Build strong relationships with customers and become a familiar face within the local community.
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and consistent service.
- Support with rotas, stock, cash management and other operational responsibilities.
- Champion health & safety, licensing and brand standards.
- Help maintain a safe, welcoming and enjoyable environment for customers and colleagues.
- Create a positive team culture where people feel supported, valued and motivated.
- Bring fresh ideas and energy to help grow the pub.
- Lead by example and get stuck in when things get busy.

What we’re looking for
We're looking for an Assistant Manager or experienced hospitality leader who:
- Has previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or similar.
- Has experience working in a busy pub, restaurant, bar or high-volume hospitality environment.
- Is confident leading a team and taking ownership of a shift.
- Has strong communication skills and knows how to motivate and develop people.
- Takes genuine pride in delivering excellent customer service.
- Is commercially aware and understands how great hospitality can drive sales and repeat business.
- Can stay calm, organised and hands-on when things get busy.
- Enjoys working in a lively, family-focused environment.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards across the pub.
- Is proactive, energetic and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
- Has a genuine passion for food, drinks and hospitality.
- Understands the importance of creating a safe, welcoming environment for families.
- Wants to develop their skills and progress their career with Greene King.
