We're looking for an experienced, team-focused Assistant Manager ready to take the next step in their hospitality career. You'll work closely with the GM and wider team to run shifts, share ownership of commercial performance, and help develop the people around you — with genuine support to progress into your next role, whatever direction that takes you in across the business.
Role Description
The Assistant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position based in Market Harborough. This role supports the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day pub operations, including supervising front-of-house teams, maintaining service standards, and ensuring guests receive consistently welcoming and efficient service.

- Coordinating staff schedules
- Assisting with training and performance feedback
- Helping manage stock, cash handling, and compliance with health and safety regulations
- Contributing to local marketing activities, promotions, and events to drive guest engagement and sales
The Assistant Manager also contributes to local marketing activities, promotions, and events to drive guest engagement and sales. The role requires active presence on the pub floor, leading by example and fostering a positive, inclusive working environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in hospitality or retail management, including supervising teams and supporting daily operations.
- Strong guest service skills, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere and handle feedback or issues professionally.
- Competence in basic business administration, such as cash handling, stock control, and shift planning.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse team members.
- Ability to stay calm under pressure, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions during busy trading periods.
- Basic understanding of health, safety, and food hygiene standards in a hospitality environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in line with pub trading patterns.
- Previous experience in a pub, bar, restaurant, or similar environment, and qualifications in hospitality or management are beneficial.
