Leonard Curtis - Insolvency Assistant Manager

Leonard Curtis is currently seeking an experienced Insolvency Assistant Manager to join our team in Manchester. You'll need at least 5 years' experience in corporate insolvency and be ready for a role with real responsibility.

You'll support our Senior Manager and Manager in running the Trading and Case Management (“TCM”) team, while working directly with Leonard Curtis Directors, advising distressed businesses ahead of appointment and managing the formalities of Administration cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting both the Senior Manager and Manager with the smooth running of the TCM team and taking on general management duties.
  • Dealing with matters relating to the post appointment period once the case has been reassigned to the TCM team at approximately 3 months following appointment (subject to the complexity of the case).
  • Experience and a good understanding of the Administration process is essential, dealing with prepack sales/SIP16 requirements, trading Administrations (desirable but not essential), progress reports, employee matters and claims, pension claims, VAT returns and corporation tax returns, dividend process, investigations and case closure requirements.
  • Mentoring junior staff members and taking responsibility for their career growth.
  • Stakeholder management.
  • Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Responsibility for additional ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Having a degree of autonomy in decision making.
  • Managing and leading team members.
  • Develop relationships with other professionals both internally within the group and externally.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5 plus years’ corporate insolvency experience.
  • CPI qualified, beneficial but not essential.
  • Good numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to identify and deal with high-risk issues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a varied case portfolio.
  • Ability to adhere to internal and statutory deadlines.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and be proactive.
