ASSISTANT HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER, THE ROLE
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager is responsible for supporting the Housekeeping Manager in the day-to-day operation of the department, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, and guest satisfaction throughout the hotel. The role involves supervising the housekeeping team, maintaining compliance with company standards, assisting with departmental administration, and ensuring bedrooms and public areas consistently meet brand expectations.
HOUSEKEEPING OPERATIONS
- Support the daily management and organisation of the Housekeeping department.
- Ensure all guest bedrooms, public areas, meeting rooms, back-of-house areas, and staff facilities are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and public areas, ensuring any defects or maintenance issues are reported promptly.
- Assist in planning daily room allocations and team workloads to maximise productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure all rooms are cleaned and released in line with occupancy requirements and agreed service standards.
- Monitor linen, guest supplies, cleaning chemicals, and housekeeping equipment to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
- Work closely with Reception, Maintenance, Food & Beverage, Conference & Events, and other departments to ensure excellent communication and a seamless guest experience.
- Support the implementation and continuous improvement of housekeeping procedures and standards.
- Ensure compliance with TVC Housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Assist with preparing rooms for VIP arrivals, special events, and group bookings.
- Ensure all lost property procedures are followed accurately.
- Support environmental initiatives, sustainability objectives, and efficient resource management.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT
- Supervise, motivate, and support the housekeeping team during daily operations.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, training, and ongoing development of team members.
- Provide coaching, guidance, and regular performance feedback.
- Monitor productivity and quality standards, addressing performance issues where appropriate.
- Promote a positive team culture and a "One Team" approach across the hotel.
- Support the Housekeeping Manager with rotas, absence management, and holiday planning where required.
- Lead the department in the Housekeeping Manager's absence.
GUEST EXPERIENCE
- Ensure every guest experiences a clean, comfortable, and welcoming environment.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and complaints relating to housekeeping.
- Take ownership of guest issues and ensure timely resolution.
- Support continuous improvement by reviewing guest feedback and implementing actions where appropriate.
