Role Description
The Assistant Manager role at Jayar Car Parts in Brackley is a full-time, on-site position supporting the daily operations of the branch. The Assistant Manager helps oversee staff scheduling, task allocation, and performance, while maintaining a safe, well-organized store and warehouse environment. This role includes assisting customers at the counter, providing product advice, processing orders, and coordinating stock control, deliveries, and returns. The Assistant Manager also supports the Branch Manager with sales targets, reporting, cash handling, and compliance with company policies and procedures. The position requires active participation in problem-solving, helping to train new team members, and ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

- Experience in retail, trade counter, or automotive parts sales, with strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
- Operational skills in stock control, basic inventory management, and order processing, ideally within a branch or store environment.
- Supervisory or team leadership experience, including delegation, coaching, and supporting performance and development.
- Good numerical and IT skills, including use of point-of-sale systems, basic spreadsheets, and email.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced setting.
- Organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of car parts or a keen interest in the automotive sector is highly beneficial; prior motor trade experience is an advantage.
- Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with manual handling tasks associated with stock movement.
- Full UK driving licence is desirable for occasional delivery or collection duties.
