With its stylish interior, welcoming atmosphere, outdoor seating and fantastic central London location, this is a pub with plenty going for it ā and weāre looking for an Assistant Manager who can help us make the most of it.

Our dark blue walls and contemporary feel create a pub that's full of character, while our location brings together locals, visitors, tourists and customers looking for somewhere relaxed to enjoy great drinks and good food.
We're family-friendly, dog-friendly and have outdoor seating, while our function space gives us another fantastic opportunity to attract customers and grow the business.
This is a pub where no two days are quite the same, and we're looking for someone who thrives on that.
Qualifications
š Whatās the opportunity?
As Assistant Manager, you'll be a key part of the management team, working alongside the General Manager to lead the team, deliver brilliant hospitality and drive the business forward.
Youāll:
- Support the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the Old Star.
- Lead from the front and set the standard for exceptional hospitality.
- Coach, motivate and develop the team, helping people reach their full potential.
- Build strong relationships with your team through clear and positive communication.
- Take ownership of shifts and make sure every customer receives a fantastic experience.
- Drive sales across food, drinks and functions.
- Look for new ways to maximise the pubās fantastic central London location.
- Build relationships with locals, visitors and regular customers.
- Help deliver successful functions and events.
- Maintain high standards across service, food, drink, cleanliness and safety.
- Support the General Manager with achieving the pubās commercial goals.
- Step up and lead the business in the General Managerās absence.
- Bring your own ideas, energy and personality to help the Old Star continue to thrive.

Weāre looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, Team Leader or in a similar hospitality role.
- Genuinely loves hospitality and takes pride in creating memorable customer experiences.
- Has strong people-management and communication skills.
- Can coach, motivate and develop a team.
- Leads by example and isn't afraid to get stuck in.
- Is confident running busy shifts and maintaining high standards.
- Has a commercial mindset and understands how to maximise sales opportunities.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced London pub environment.
- Is confident building relationships with a diverse range of customers.
- Has energy, personality and plenty of ideas.
- Is ambitious and keen to develop their career with Greene King.
