Company Description

Just a short walk from Bedford town centre, The Gordon Arms can be found on the well-known and loved Castle Road, located in the heart of Bedford’s Castle Quarter. We love to be considered as a neighbourhood hangout which offers great beer, tasty food and great service.

Position

Your Role As Assistant Manager

  • Supporting the General Manager with the day-to-day running of the site in accordance with established company standards, policies and procedures
  • Motivating and inspiring your team through a genuine passion for hospitality
  • Ongoing training and development of the team
  • Driving sales by maintaining excellent standards and exceeding customer expectations
  • Maintain front of house standards and drive excellence in food, hotel, service and drink quality
  • Adhere to all legislative requirements for people, safety, and licensing
  • Conduct regular stock counts and compare to usage reports including waste records to identify opportunities for tighter control

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • The ability to deliver excellent customer service and great teamwork in a fast-paced and pressurised environment
  • Energy and motivation to successfully lead and inspire your team
  • Self-motivation with excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Previous experience in a management or leadership role within the hospitality industry - essential
  • Passion for the industry and the challenges that come with it
  • A result-driven and ambitious individual keen to develop your career and grow with us
