Role Description
The Assistant Manager role at Formula One Autocentres in Runcorn is a full-time, on-site position supporting the daily operation of the autocentre. The Assistant Manager helps oversee customer service, workshop productivity, and adherence to company standards, ensuring that all services are delivered efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities
- Assisting with staff scheduling
- Supervising technicians
- Coordinating MOTs and servicing work
- Monitoring stock levels for tyres, batteries, and other parts
- Handling customer enquiries
- Supporting sales of products and services
- Managing basic administration and reporting
- Contributing to a clean, compliant, and well-organized working environment
The Assistant Manager works closely with the Centre Manager to achieve performance targets and maintain the professional reputation of the Runcorn autocentre.
Qualifications
- Experience in automotive or fast-fit environments, with a solid understanding of services such as tyres, brakes, MOTs, and general vehicle maintenance.
- Background in supervising teams or supporting management, including staff coordination, workload planning, and performance support.
- Strong customer service and communication abilities, with confidence in handling enquiries, resolving issues, and explaining technical information in accessible terms.
- Basic sales and commercial awareness, including the ability to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate products or services, and support centre revenue goals.
- Organizational and administrative skills, including accurate record-keeping, use of IT systems, and attention to health and safety procedures.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced on-site environment, demonstrating reliability, problem-solving skills, and a hands-on approach to supporting the workshop.
- Previous experience in a similar Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or Senior Technician role is highly beneficial; relevant automotive qualifications or MOT-related certifications are an advantage.
- Flexibility to work weekends and extended hours as required, and eligibility to work in the UK.
