Role Description

The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Bickleigh, supporting the General Manager in day-to-day pub operations. This position involves:

  • Coordinating staff schedules
  • Ensuring a high standard of guest experience throughout the venue

The Assistant Manager is expected to be hands-on, visible to guests, and responsive to operational needs during peak trading times.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality or pub/restaurant management, including supervising teams and supporting daily operations.
  • Strong customer service skills, with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere and handle guest feedback professionally.
  • Basic understanding of stock control, cash handling, and operational processes within a hospitality environment.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and lead by example.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, in a fast-paced, on-site environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and responsible alcohol service standards is desirable.
  • Previous experience in a pub, bar, or similar venue and qualifications in hospitality or management are beneficial.
