Assistant Manager (Delivery Kitchen)
Location: Manchester
Contract: 40 hours per week
Salary: £32,000 per annum
Bonus: 20% Quarterly performance bonus based on achievement of store sales budget
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced and highly organised Assistant Manager to take ownership of a fast-paced delivery kitchen operation in Manchester.
This is a different environment from a traditional customer-facing restaurant. The kitchen operates from a shared commercial facility and is focused entirely on delivery, meaning operational discipline, delivery performance, accuracy, and consistency are critical to success.
You will take day-to-day ownership of the site, working closely with the General Manager at the nearby Trafford Centre location. You will be responsible for ensuring the kitchen operates to brand standards, delivers strong operational and delivery metrics, and provides an excellent working environment for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full day-to-day ownership of the delivery kitchen and its operational performance.
- Lead, motivate and develop the team, creating an energetic, positive, and accountable working environment.
- Drive key delivery performance metrics, including order times, missing items, accuracy, waste, and customer ratings.
- Ensure all food, operational, and brand standards are consistently maintained.
- Monitor performance closely and take action to improve sales, service, and operational efficiency.
- Manage stock, ordering, and waste effectively to ensure the kitchen operates efficiently.
- Work closely with the General Manager at the Trafford Centre to coordinate people, scheduling, recruitment, and operational support.
- Ensure the kitchen is well-organised, compliant, and operating to the required standards at all times.
- Be a visible leader who takes ownership and maintains standards even when senior management is not present.
- Use data and operational information to identify issues, understand performance, and drive continuous improvement.
- Support the sharing of people and resources between the delivery kitchen and Trafford Centre site when required.

About You
We are looking for someone who understands the realities of a delivery-focused kitchen environment and can quickly take ownership of the operation.
Ideally, you will have:
- Previous experience working in or managing a delivery kitchen, dark kitchen, delivery operation, or similar environment.
- Strong operational and people-management experience.
- A highly organised and analytical approach, with the ability to understand and act on performance metrics.
- A strong understanding of delivery KPIs and how they impact sales and customer experience.
- The energy and personality to engage and motivate a small team, even in a non-customer-facing environment.
- A strong sense of accountability and ownership.
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the wider management team.
- A commitment to following established processes and protecting brand standards consistently.

Experience as a Kitchen Manager or Assistant Manager will be considered, particularly where you have previous experience in a delivery-led operation.

The successful candidate will be someone who can step into a delivery kitchen environment and understand how it operates from day one. You'll need to be commercially aware, highly organised, comfortable working with data and metrics, and passionate about developing people and maintaining high standards.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will take ownership of the site and drive performance every day.
