Assistant Manager – ESP Merchandise

ESP Merchandise is a busy screen printing, embroidery and custom merchandise company based in Norwich. We work with a wide range of clients, from local businesses and events to clothing brands and artists, producing high-quality printed and embroidered garments and bespoke merchandise.
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and reliable Assistant Manager to help oversee the day-to-day running of the business.
This is a varied, hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment, dealing with customers, keeping jobs organised and making sure things get done properly and on time.
The role will include:
- Helping manage the day-to-day workflow of the business
- Organising customer orders from enquiry through to production and dispatch
- Communicating with customers by email and phone
- Preparing quotes and following up enquiries
- Scheduling and prioritising production jobs
- Liaising with our screen printing, embroidery and design teams
- Ordering garments and materials from suppliers
- Checking stock, deliveries and completed orders
- Helping coordinate staff and workloads
- Monitoring deadlines and making sure jobs stay on schedule
- Resolving problems before they affect customers
- Maintaining accurate job and customer information
- Helping improve systems and processes as the company grows
- Supporting the Managing Director with the general running of the business

Who we're looking for
You’ll need to be highly organised, confident communicating with customers and comfortable managing several jobs at the same time.
We’re particularly interested in someone who:
- Takes responsibility and uses their initiative
- Is organised and good at prioritising
- Has strong attention to detail
- Communicates clearly and professionally
- Is comfortable working in a busy environment
- Can solve problems without needing constant supervision
- Is confident using computers and learning new systems
- Works well with a small team
- Has a positive, practical approach to getting things done

Experience in print, embroidery, clothing, merchandise, manufacturing or production management would be useful, but it isn't essential for the right person.
The most important thing is finding someone dependable who can learn how ESP operates and gradually take responsibility for more of the day-to-day management of the company.

We’ve been producing screen printed and embroidered clothing and merchandise for many years, working with customers ranging from independent businesses and clothing brands to music events and local businesses.
We’re a growing independent company, so this role offers the opportunity to become an important part of the business and develop alongside it.
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience
Location: Norwich, Norfolk
Hours: Full-time or part-time
