We are currently recruiting a Client Services Assistant Manager for our Didcot office. The successful candidate will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and have a flexible approach to their work.
Responsibilities
Within a team, you will have the following responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as the main point of contact, providing advice, resolving queries, and building long-term trusted relationships
- Review work prepared by client services team, giving constructive feedback and ensuring technical accuracy
- Monitor deadlines for VAT, Companies House, and HMRC submissions, ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
- Oversee workflow management, allocating tasks across the team to meet client and practice deadlines.
- Lead, mentor, and develop team members through regular one-to-ones, objective setting, coaching, and technical training.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and client service, recommending new processes, technology, or service offerings.
- Support Senior Manager with business development, client onboarding, and practice growth initiatives.

Your Skills
- ACA / ACCA / CAI qualified
- At least 6 years’ experience with a minimum of 3 years post-qualification within a UK accountancy practice, managing a client portfolio.
- Proven technical expertise in accounting and bookkeeping processes, with strong knowledge of FRS 102. Experience with LLP SORP and IFRS would be advantageous.
- Experience reviewing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and management accounts.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including mentoring, motivating, and supporting staff.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build trusted client relationships and resolve technical or service-related issue.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities to enhance client service.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office.
