Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and organised Assistant Manager to join our catering and hospitality team in London, United Kingdom. In this permanent position, you will play a key role in ensuring exceptional service delivery, maintaining operational excellence, and supporting the management of our catering facilities. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership capabilities, a commitment to customer satisfaction, digital marketing proficiency, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage catering and hospitality staff, providing guidance, support, and constructive feedback to ensure high performance standards
  • Oversee daily operations, including service delivery, food preparation coordination, and guest relations to maintain quality and efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food hygiene standards, and organisational policies at all times
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels, stock rotation, and resource allocation to minimise waste and control costs
  • Respond promptly to guest concerns and complaints, implementing effective solutions to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Create and publish daily social media posts to promote our products and services, maintaining a consistent brand presence across digital platforms
  • Modify marketing templates and design promotional content to align with organisational branding and campaign objectives
  • Manage the publishing of menus and promotional materials across digital channels, ensuring accuracy and timely updates
  • Coordinate between front-of-house and kitchen teams to ensure seamless service delivery and operational flow
  • Conduct staff induction and training programmes to develop team capabilities and maintain service standards
  • Maintain detailed records of operations, incidents, and performance metrics for reporting and appraisal purposes
  • Assist in planning and executing catering events and special functions as required
  • Support the management team in implementing new procedures, systems, and service improvements

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2–3 years' experience in catering, hospitality management, or a similar supervisory role
  • Proven experience in team leadership and staff supervision
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and people skills
  • Proficiency with Point of Sale (POS) systems and catering management software
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and stock control procedures
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations
  • Excellent organisational and time-keeping abilities
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills in English

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in event management or coordinating catering functions
  • Familiarity with budget management and cost control
  • Background in staff training and development
  • Experience working across multiple catering operations or venues

Domain Expertise & Certifications:

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate (or equivalent recognised qualification)
  • Health and Safety awareness certification
