Calculo is growing, and we're looking for an experienced and ambitious Chartered Accountant to join our expanding team as an Assistant Manager.
This is an exciting opportunity for a fully qualified accountant who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys building strong client relationships, delivering advisory services, and helping businesses grow.
As an Assistant Manager, you'll manage your own portfolio of SME clients, support the wider team, and play a key role in the ongoing growth and development of the practice. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to innovative technology initiatives, including the development of our proprietary software solutions.

- Managing your own portfolio of SME clients
- Preparing statutory accounts + management accounts
- Leading client relationship meetings + providing commercial advice
- Supporting business development activities + representing Calculo at networking events
- End-to-end bookkeeping using cloud accounting systems including Xero + QuickBooks + Sage
- Payroll, CIS and VAT return preparation + submission + reviews
- Preparing financial forecasts + cashflow forecasts for SME clients
- Supporting client onboarding + technology implementation
- Coaching + mentoring + monitoring Associate Accountants within Calculo
- Contributing to the growth of Calculo's proprietary technology offerings + future software development initiatives
You'll work with a diverse range of businesses across multiple industries, providing practical financial insight and helping clients make informed commercial decisions.
About You
We're looking for a motivated individual who is:

- Professionally qualified (ICAS, ICAEW, ACCA required)
- Experienced in SME accountancy + advisory services
- Commercially minded with excellent client relationship skills
- Passionate about delivering exceptional service
- Organised, proactive + detail-oriented
- Comfortable working independently + collaboratively
- Keen to embrace new technologies + drive innovation across the practice
Essential Experience:
- Accounts preparation experience
- Knowledge of cloud accounting systems such as Xero, QuickBooks + Sage
- Experience working across a variety of sectors
- Existing network within the SME community + access to SME client base
- Full UK driving licence
