Gen II is looking for a full-time FATCA/CRS Assistant Manager to join our growing team of professionals in our Southampton office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax compliance professional to take ownership of day-to-day FATCA and CRS operations while developing leadership skills within the private equity fund services industry. The Assistant Manager will play a central role in executing and improving the full reporting lifecycle, mentoring junior staff, and serving as a key point of contact for FATCA/CRS matters within their office. This position reports to the Director overseeing our global FATCA/CRS business.

Responsibilities

This position carries out the responsibilities in the following functional areas:

  • Executing and overseeing FATCA and CRS reporting workflows, including filings administered by the ACD (Luxembourg), HMRC (United Kingdom), and the US Treasury (United States)
  • Managing the day-to-day operation of efficient workflows for ingesting, validating, and classifying investor onboarding data
  • Preparing and reviewing annual CRS and FATCA foreign filings for international entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Leading form validation reviews, including analysis of exception reports, determining the validity of investor documentation, and recommending and implementing corrective actions
  • Maintaining and improving the team's withholding documentation processes, including W-8 series forms and W-8IMY withholding statements
  • Owning the upkeep of the team's withholding matrix database
  • Mentoring and supervising Staff Trainees, reviewing their work product, and supporting their professional development
  • Collaborating cross-functionally with Tax professionals, accounting, and investor relations teams to ensure accurate investor classification and timely reporting
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities and contributing to operational efficiency initiatives

Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following experience and qualities:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Law, Business, or a related field
  • 3–5 years of experience in FATCA/CRS compliance, international tax, or a related financial services role
  • Working knowledge of the OECD Common Reporting Standard, FATCA regulations, and W-8 series documentation requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Emerging leadership skills, with experience reviewing others' work or informally guiding junior colleagues
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom

Role Location/Hybrid Schedule

This role is based in our Southampton office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual’s preferences and circumstances. For this trainee role, we believe you should be office-based to enable training and collaboration with the team.
