Assistant Manager – Leisure & Entertainment

Essex

Circa £30,000 + Bonus

Love leading people? Thrive in a busy environment? Prefer being out on the floor rather than stuck behind a desk? We’re looking for an energetic Assistant Manager to join a successful leisure and entertainment venue in Essex.

This is a hands-on management role where you’ll be right at the heart of the operation – leading the team, looking after guests, driving standards and making sure the venue delivers a brilliant experience every day.

We’re particularly keen to speak to people from leisure or hospitality backgrounds who understand what it takes to manage a busy customer-facing operation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Working alongside the General Manager, you’ll help lead the day-to-day operation of the venue.

You’ll be:

  • Leading and motivating the team on shift
  • Creating a fun, welcoming and memorable guest experience
  • Keeping standards high across all areas of the venue
  • Supporting food, beverage and hospitality operations
  • Helping drive sales and overall commercial performance
  • Coaching team members and helping them develop
  • Managing opening and closing shifts
  • Ensuring health, safety and operational standards are consistently delivered
  • Getting stuck in when it gets busy – this is very much a hands-on role!

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
