Job Purpose
The role supports the delivery and continuous improvement of the Bank's Operational Resilience Framework. It is responsible for coordinating resilience activities, maintaining key resilience artefacts and supporting business continuity, incident management, scenario testing, vulnerability management and governance reporting.
The position is well suited to an individual looking to develop practical operational resilience and risk management experience within a regulated banking environment, while working with stakeholders across the Bank to strengthen preparedness, response and recovery capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Resilience Framework
- Maintain Operational Resilience policies, procedures, standards, guidance and supporting records.
- Support the ongoing review and development of the Operational Resilience Framework.
- Maintain records of Important Business Services, impact tolerances, critical dependencies and mapping outputs.
- Coordinate annual reviews and evidence gathering across business areas.
- Maintain resilience action logs, plans and management information.
- Support risk and control assessments relating to Operational Resilience.
Business Continuity & Planning
- Support the development, maintenance and review of Business Continuity Plans and supporting playbooks.
- Coordinate annual continuity plan reviews and track completion across business areas.
- Maintain continuity documentation, contact lists, recovery requirements and supporting evidence.
- Support alignment of business continuity arrangements across people, premises, technology, data and third parties.
- Assist with awareness activities and practical guidance for plan owners and business stakeholders.
Resilience Testing & Scenario Exercising
- Coordinate the resilience testing programme and scenario exercises.
- Support preparation of exercise materials, participant briefings, evidence packs and test documentation.
- Record outcomes, lessons identified and improvement actions arising from tests and exercises.
- Maintain testing schedules and track actions through to completion.
- Support validation of impact tolerances, recovery arrangements and critical dependencies.

Vulnerability & Remediation Management
- Maintain the resilience vulnerability register and associated action plans.
- Support annual resilience vulnerability assessments relating to Important Business Services.
- Coordinate evidence collection and monitor progress against remediation plans.
- Escalate overdue or material resilience actions through appropriate governance channels.
- Produce reporting on vulnerabilities, actions, themes and delivery progress.
Incident Management & Lessons Learned
- Support the administration of Incident Management and Crisis Management arrangements.
- Maintain incident records, action logs, contact information and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate post-incident reviews and capture lessons identified and remediation actions.
- Track completion of incident actions and support reporting of recurring themes.
- Provide coordination and documentation support during significant incidents where required.
Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Support
- Prepare Operational Resilience management information, dashboards and committee papers.
- Maintain governance records, decisions, actions and supporting evidence.
- Support regulatory self-assessments, audits, assurance reviews and information requests.
- Engage with stakeholders across the Bank to obtain resilience information and deliver agreed activities.
- Support Operational Resilience training, awareness and communications.
- Monitor relevant regulatory and industry developments and help reflect changes in internal documentation.
