Assistant Manager – Mixed Personal Tax and Accounts | 10 Partner Firm | London

Are you an ambitious ACA or ACCA qualified professional looking to transition into a management role within a firm renowned for its work in the media and entertainment sector? Are you seeking new challenges such as international and US tax?

This 12 Partner Firm provides high-quality accountancy and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of approximately 3,500 clients. The practice supports a wide range of individuals and owner-managed businesses, with a particular focus on the media, film, television, and theatre industries. They are committed to promoting talent internally and offer a professional, plain-speaking, and approachable environment.

This role will be supporting Managers and Partners with their portfolios as well as reviewing and training junior team members. Workload is an interesting mix of primarily personal tax and accounts but with opportunities to also work on international and US tax as well as corporate tax.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager – Personal Tax and Accounts you will:

  • Oversee daily accounting tasks and manage workflow within the team.
  • Review financial statements for FRS 105, FRS 102 1A, and FRS 102 clients.
  • Manage a portfolio of monthly/quarterly VAT and Making Tax Digital returns.
  • Prepare and review complex personal tax returns and sole trader annual accounts.
  • Mentor and supervise junior staff, identifying training needs and conducting performance reviews.
  • Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and build long-term relationships.
  • Assist managers with portfolio oversight and commercial management, including billing and WIP.
  • Conduct technical research and assist with international tax matters.
