The restaurant focuses on dishes prepared with fresh, natural ingredients by award-winning chefs, delivering food that is memorable and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
In addition to in-restaurant dining, The Dhabba provides bespoke event catering for weddings, corporate events, home dining, and celebrations across Scotland. The venue also supports group bookings, set menus for large parties, and corporate accounts with invoicing facilities and tailored menus.
This combination of high-quality cuisine and flexible services makes The Dhabba a dynamic, guest-focused hospitality environment for team members.
Role Description
The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at The Dhabba in Glasgow. This role supports the Restaurant Manager in overseeing daily operations, including supervising front-of-house staff, coordinating reservations and group bookings, and ensuring an excellent guest experience during regular service and events.

Responsibilities

- Managing shift schedules
- Monitoring service quality
- Handling guest feedback and complaints
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
- Coordinating event catering and set menus
- Ensuring accurate billing and cash handling
- Supporting inventory and stock control in partnership with kitchen and bar teams
- Contributing to training new team members
- Promoting health and safety compliance
- Fostering a positive, inclusive working culture
Qualifications
- Experience in restaurant or hospitality management, with the ability to supervise staff, manage shifts, and support front-of-house operations.
- Strong customer service and communication skills, with a focus on creating welcoming, inclusive experiences for diverse guests.
- Competence in reservations management, group bookings, and event coordination, ideally within a busy restaurant or catering environment.
- Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and health and safety procedures in a hospitality setting.
- Basic financial and administrative skills, including handling payments, reconciling tills, supporting invoicing, and maintaining records.
- Ability to work collaboratively with kitchen and bar teams, support training of new colleagues, and contribute to a respectful, team-oriented workplace.
- Organizational and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to remain calm, resourceful, and professional during busy periods.
- Previous experience in Indian or similar cuisine, and familiarity with Glasgow’s hospitality scene, is advantageous but not essential.
