We are seeking a professionally qualified and experienced Assistant Manager to join our highly experienced specialist VAT team in Cambridge.
This is a key role within a well-established team, where you will support senior leaders in delivering high-quality technical advice, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the firm’s strategic and commercial objectives. You will play a central part in maintaining the team’s performance and helping the wider firm achieve its aims.
In this role, you will:
- Provide VAT advice to clients and colleagues across a broad range of matters
- Work closely with clients, HMRC, and teams across the firm
- Identify planning and marketing opportunities for both existing and prospective clients
- Support the delivery of complex technical assignments
- Contribute to new client proposals
- Uphold the firm’s quality assurance standards while delivering an excellent level of client care
- Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and proactively resolve issues

We are looking for someone who is ATT qualified (or equivalent), with strong VAT experience gained within professional services or a similar environment. CTA qualification would be beneficial. You will have:
- Excellent technical knowledge
- The ability to communicate complex matters clearly
- A strong sense of commercial awareness with an interest in business development
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments to deadline
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
