We are seeking a professionally qualified and experienced Assistant Manager to join our highly experienced specialist VAT team in Cambridge.

This is a key role within a well-established team, where you will support senior leaders in delivering high-quality technical advice, driving continuous improvement, and contributing to the firm’s strategic and commercial objectives. You will play a central part in maintaining the team’s performance and helping the wider firm achieve its aims.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide VAT advice to clients and colleagues across a broad range of matters
  • Work closely with clients, HMRC, and teams across the firm
  • Identify planning and marketing opportunities for both existing and prospective clients
  • Support the delivery of complex technical assignments
  • Contribute to new client proposals
  • Uphold the firm’s quality assurance standards while delivering an excellent level of client care
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share knowledge and proactively resolve issues

We are looking for someone who is ATT qualified (or equivalent), with strong VAT experience gained within professional services or a similar environment. CTA qualification would be beneficial. You will have:

  • Excellent technical knowledge
  • The ability to communicate complex matters clearly
  • A strong sense of commercial awareness with an interest in business development
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments to deadline
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
