Job title: Assistant Manager, The Skye Inn
Location: Portree, Isle of Skye
Contract: Permanent, full-time
Hours: Annualised 40 hours per week over 5 days

The Role
The Skye Inn is part of The Travel Corporation, a family company which includes Morag's Lodge Loch Ness, Highland Explorer Tours and HAGGiS Adventures.
We recruit people who are passionate and committed to both sustainable tourism and providing unparalleled customer service.
The role is varied, hands-on, and the Assistant Manager will be expected to show initiative and be flexible. They will have the opportunity to help shape the future of the business.

What will you do?
- Provide exceptional and consistent service standards, ensuring the delivery of Highland Hospitality at its best, and seeking out opportunities to exceed our guests' expectations.
- As part of the Management team, maximise the profitability of The Skye Inn by increasing revenue, maximising occupancy, controlling costs, and maintaining positive staff morale.
- Support the General Manager in delivering business objectives and provide leadership across all operational areas of the Inn, assuming Duty Management responsibilities and managing the operation in the Manager's absence.
- Ensure safe and efficient daily operation of the Inn and adherence to all legal requirements, health & safety legislation and that assets are managed and maintained in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Ensure all guests experience positive Highland Hospitality and receive consistent excellent customer service from well-trained and motivated staff, and understand and resolve any concerns raised by guests timeously.
- Demonstrate expected professional standards by being a positive role model, and assist with training, supervision, recruitment, onboarding and retention of staff.
- Maximise occupancy for tour groups and independent guests through maintenance of all booking channels, and monitor and positively respond to all online reviews and feedback.
- Assist the delivery of high-quality meal service and maximise sales of all Food and Beverage.
- Ensure all housekeeping is undertaken to a high standard, efficiently, and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
- Support the Management team with the development, production, and delivery of events, such as charity events, parties, and weddings from proposal to delivery.

About you
Essential
- Experience of hospitality and/or customer service
- A working knowledge of Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Experience of supervising a team
Desirable
- Elementary Health and Hygiene Certificate
- Personal Licence Holder
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Experience of independent travel
