We're looking for an Assistant Manager to join our management team and help lead one of Hungry Horse's lively, family-friendly pubs.
This isn't just about keeping things running. It's about getting stuck in, leading from the front, and helping create a pub that customers want to come back to.
Welcome to The Noble Comb
Situated on Salts Mill Road in Shipley, The Noble Comb is a proper family-friendly Hungry Horse pub, bringing together great-value food, drinks, and plenty going on.
We're a destination for families, friends, and local customers, with indoor soft play, outdoor play, dining, a well-stocked bar, and regular offers and events. We're also close to Bradford city centre, giving us a fantastic local catchment.
As Assistant Manager, you'll play a key role in bringing all of this to life.
What you'll be doing
You'll work closely with the General Manager to run the pub day to day, leading the team, and making sure every customer gets the experience Hungry Horse is known for.
Job Description
You'll:
- Support the General Manager in leading the pub and take charge in their absence
- Lead by example on the floor and be hands-on during busy services
- Motivate, coach, and develop your team to be the best they can be
- Make sure our customers receive great service from the moment they arrive
- Help drive sales and maximise every opportunity to grow the business
- Keep standards high across service, food, drink, and the overall pub
- Support with rotas, recruitment, training, and team development
- Champion health, safety, and brand standards
- Build strong relationships with your team and the local community
- Help create the kind of atmosphere that keeps customers coming back

Qualifications
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone who loves hospitality and knows how to lead people.
You'll ideally have experience as an Assistant Manager, Supervisor, or Team Leader in a busy pub, restaurant, bar, hotel, retail, or similar fast-paced environment.
More importantly, you'll be:
- A natural leader – you know how to bring people with you and aren't afraid to get stuck in.
- Customer focused – you care about creating great experiences and understand what makes customers come back.
- Commercially minded – you understand that great service and a successful business go hand in hand.
- Confident and hands-on – you're comfortable making decisions, managing a busy shift, and supporting your team when things get hectic.
- Passionate about people – you'll enjoy coaching, developing, and recognising your team.
Previous hospitality management experience is great, but we're also interested in people from other fast-paced customer-focused environments who have the right attitude and leadership skills.
