About The Role

Law360 is seeking an Assistant Managing Editor to lead a team of reporters covering the U.K. This role is responsible for guiding daily news coverage, supporting editorial decision-making, and ensuring high-quality reporting on major legal, regulatory, and business developments.

Working closely with senior editorial leadership, you will help shape coverage priorities, support the development of journalists, and contribute to an agile newsroom that responds effectively to breaking news and evolving industry issues.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of reporters covering the U.K. legal and business landscape
  • Set coverage priorities and assign stories
  • Oversee reporting and editing decisions on complex stories
  • Guide the team in responding quickly and effectively to breaking news
  • Support the development and coaching of reporters and editors
  • Maintain high editorial standards across all coverage
  • Coordinate coverage across teams and newsroom functions
  • Plan staffing and coverage needs, adjusting priorities as news and resources change

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in journalism or related field
  • At least 7-10 years of journalism experience
  • Exceptional news judgment
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills
  • At least two years of management experience
  • Experience covering the legal industry
