ASSISTANT MERCHANDISER | ECOM & RETAIL | INTERNATIONAL RETAILER | HYBRID | 18 Month FTC

Working for one of the UK's most recognisable retailers, with one of the strongest merchandising functions in the industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Merchandising Assistant looking to take the next step in their career.

You'll join one of our client's key product categories, working alongside experienced Merchandisers and Buyers in a fast-paced, supportive environment with genuine opportunities for development and progression.

Responsibilities

  • Support the forecasting and planning of stock to achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Assist with the management of the WSSI and OTB, ensuring stock levels are aligned to business requirements.
  • Analyse sales, stock and performance data, identifying opportunities and potential risks.
  • Monitor best and worst sellers, making recommendations on repeats, markdowns and replenishment.
  • Work closely with Buyers to ensure the right product mix is delivered each season.
  • Produce weekly trade reports and provide insights to support commercial decision making.
  • Support pricing, promotional activity and seasonal planning across your product areas.
  • Manage purchase orders and monitor deliveries, highlighting any risks or delays.
  • Review stock cover and recommend actions to maintain healthy inventory levels.
  • Build strong relationships with Buying, Design, Supply Chain and suppliers.
  • Contribute to monthly reforecasts and seasonal planning activity.
  • Ensure merchandising administration is completed accurately and on time.

  • Previous experience as a Merchandising Assistant, Allocator or in a similar merchandising role.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales and stock data.
  • Highly organised with excellent planning and time management skills.
  • Confident using Excel; experience with merchandising systems is an advantage.
  • A commercial mindset with a passion for retail and product.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across teams.
  • Proactive, eager to learn and keen to develop within a leading retail business.
