Assistant Merchandiser | Beauty & Cosmetics | Manchester

We're looking for a commercially minded Assistant Merchandiser to join a growing beauty business in Greater Manchester. This is a varied role for someone who enjoys working with numbers, spotting trends and turning data into practical decisions.

You'll work across a broad product portfolio, supporting the wider merchandising function and gaining exposure to everything from range planning and forecasting through to stock management and trading. It's a fast-moving environment where you'll have the opportunity to make a genuine impact and develop your career within a growing consumer brand.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyse weekly sales, stock and product performance, highlighting key trends, risks and opportunities.
  • Support the wider merchandising team with seasonal planning, range reviews and new product launches.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts and update plans in line with current trading, demand and commercial activity.
  • Monitor stock levels and availability, identifying potential overstock, shortages and replenishment requirements.
  • Assist with promotional activity, analysing performance and making recommendations around future activity.
  • Prepare regular trading reports and provide clear commentary to support commercial decision-making.
  • Work closely with internal teams including Buying, Operations, Supply Chain, Finance and Ecommerce to keep plans aligned.
  • Support wider merchandising projects, helping to improve processes, reporting and overall stock efficiency.

  • Previous experience within merchandising, planning, retail analytics or a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong numerical ability with confidence working with data, identifying trends and drawing meaningful conclusions.
  • Good Excel skills and comfortable working with spreadsheets, reports and large volumes of information.
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Commercially aware, proactive and keen to understand how decisions impact sales, profitability and the customer.
  • A confident team player who communicates well and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
