Assistant Merchandiser- Head Office

Purpose of Position:

The purpose of this position is to support the Fragrance Merchandise team in planning and trading of the department, driving sales through effective stock planning and intake management, and relationship building with our brands.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Under the guidance of the Merchandiser, assist with sales forecasting at brand and department level, and support with managing the WSSI.
  • With guidance of the Merchandiser, take ownership of a small brand portfolio and support the strategic planning, intake management and NPD cycles of this portfolio.
  • Support with managing the intake of stock in line with agreed department targets, in order to maximise sales potential, suggesting ways to mitigate any risks and maximise opportunities.
  • Prepare and analyse trade summaries, providing key insights to influence stock and trading decisions, and identify opportunities for growth and risk.
  • Develop and build strong relationships and networks with cross functional partners both internally and externally, Buying, Trading, Marketing, Inventory Merch, Brands
  • Prepare SKU-level forecasts for NPD and new brand launches to drive accurate allocations to our sales channels.
  • Assist in the generation of markdowns, as well as supporting with brand activations in our stores and pop ups.
  • Oversee and help guide the junior level MAA with their daily tasks.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Merchandiser within a retail environment.
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to interpret data and make informed trading decisions
  • Excellent Excel proficiency and advanced skills with merchandising tools.
  • Experience with brands/stakeholder management, and evidence mentoring an administrative assistant will be highly regarded.

  • Highly analytical with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
