We are pleased to advertise three vacancies for Assistant Neuropsychologist posts in the Neuropsychology service at Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The two full-time posts are predominantly intended to work within the epilepsy workstream of the service, and the third 0.6wte post is predominantly intended to work within the neuro-oncology and general neuropsychology workstreams. The posts would suit highly motivated individuals interested in neuropsychological assessment of children with neurological conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- Main Duties of the Job: The post-holder will also be part of the wider Psychological & Mental Health Services in the Trust. There is regular formal supervision and informal support, including a large assistant psychologist group, and excellent opportunities for professional development within the Trust.

Person Specification
Essential
- GOSH Values: High level interpersonal and communication skills, including communication of sensitive information, and working with children and families. An ability to work in highly emotive settings. The application of psychological knowledge to a paediatric context. An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines. Ability to work reliably, independently and flexibly. A high level of concentration and attention to detail.
- Academic/Professional qualification/Training: 1st class Honours degree in Psychology or 2.1 Hons Psychology and post-graduate qualification/training (e.g. MSc) in neuropsychology or related subject. Eligibility for Graduate Membership of the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Experience/Knowledge: Knowledge of the needs and difficulties of children with illness, mental health problems or other disabilities. Experience of working with patients in clinical settings. Experience of working with children. Experience of administering, scoring, and reporting neuropsychological tests. Knowledge of research methodology and statistical analysis of data.
- Skills/Abilities: High level interpersonal and communication skills, including communication of sensitive information, and working with children and families. An ability to work in highly emotive settings. The application of psychological knowledge to a paediatric context. An ability to interact effectively with staff from all disciplines. Ability to work reliably, independently and flexibly. A high level of concentration and attention to detail.

Desirable
- Academic/Professional qualification/Training: PhD in a related subject.
- Experience/Knowledge: Experience of working in a paediatric setting. Experience of working with people with neurodisability.
