Assistant Nights Manager

Ardencote Manor - Hiddenwell | Luxury Wellness Retreat

Full-Time | Permanent

Salary: £28,000 per annum

Estimated Start Date: 23 November 2026

Reports to: Nights Manager

We’re looking for an Assistant Night Manager to support our Nights operation, helping to lead our Night Reception and Porter teams while ensuring our guests receive a warm, professional and seamless experience throughout the night.

This is a great opportunity for someone with hotel or hospitality experience who enjoys taking responsibility, supporting a team and delivering outstanding guest service.

You’ll support performance reviews and appraisals, encourage great communication and help introduce new procedures and improvements that make the guest and team experience even better.

Role Specification

As Assistant Night Manager, you’ll help keep the hotel running smoothly overnight:

  • Leading, supporting and motivating our Night Receptionists and Night Porters
  • Creating a welcoming, professional experience for our guests
  • Overseeing arrivals, guest requests and special requirements
  • Handling guest queries and complaints confidently and positively
  • Ensuring accurate shift handovers and overnight reporting
  • Monitoring room availability and help maximise room sales and revenue
  • Checking guest accounts, payments, postings and other financial transactions
  • Coaching the team to identify opportunities for in-house sales
  • Working closely with Reservations, Accounts and other hotel departments
  • Taking on Duty Management responsibilities when required
  • Completing overnight fire safety walks and ensure security procedures are followed
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety across the department

About You

You’ll be a natural people leader who is calm, organised and confident making decisions independently. You’ll care about the details while never losing sight of what matters most, our guests and your team:

  • Must be passionate about delivering excellent hospitality
  • Must be confident leading and developing a team
  • Must be calm and professional when handling guest concerns
  • Must be organised, accurate and comfortable taking responsibility
  • Must be commercially aware, with an eye for sales opportunities
  • Must be confident working with hotel Front Office/PMS systems
  • Must be an excellent communicator and natural problem-solver
  • Must be committed to high standards of safety, security and presentation
  • Must be comfortable working independently during night shifts

Previous Front Office, Reception, Nights or Duty Management experience within a hotel environment would be ideal

This is more than keeping Reception running overnight. You’ll have the opportunity to lead a team, influence the guest experience and play an important part in the smooth running of the hotel.

Additional Information

  • Full-time - 40 hours per week
  • 4 days on, 4 days off – 9.00pm – 7.00am
  • This is a Nights position. Full flexibility is required as the role will include weekends and Bank Holidays
  • Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship now or at any point in the future for this role
