Job Summary
We have an opportunity for an experienced administrator with excellent communication skills to join our Nuclear Medicine Admin Management team as a Band 4 Assistant Patient Service Coordinator. This is a rotational, full time (37.5 hours a week) position which will involve working at both St James and Leeds General Infirmary.
The post holder will take the lead role in the management and development of the staff working in the admin team. You will require excellent organisational and communication skills and have the ability to develop and motivate a team effectively, being able to prioritise their workload to reach the set targets and deadlines. Your main roles and responsibilities associated with this post are to manage speciality administration clerical staff to deliver services. The post holder will be expected to work closely with the department Team Managers, to support and implement service developments and to manage diagnostic and waiting list targets.
Why You Should Join Our Team
Nuclear Medicine are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic member of staff to join our team. The Nuclear Medicine departments operate 6 gamma cameras across St James Hospital and Leeds General Infirmary, scanning outpatients, inpatients and paediatrics. This busy department requires an individual with excellent communication skills to work as part of our administrative team as a Band 4 Assistant Patient Services Coordinator. The applicant should have accomplished computer skills, a caring and friendly demeanour, and a keen eye for detail. The post is both challenging and rewarding and is most suited to an individual who can prioritise their workload, respond quickly to changing situations and work effectively in a busy environment. An understanding of the basics of the procedures undertaken in Nuclear Medicine and PET CT imaging would be advantageous but not essential to answer patient enquiries effectively and efficiently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
