Joining a growing business, you'll have scope to build your skills, explore new sectors and put your name to some of the UK’s most iconic projects. You will be joining a thriving Business Unit with an impressive portfolio of civil engineering projects in various locations throughout Scotland.
Opportunities currently exist within both project-based and tender planning roles at our Maxim Eurocentral Head Office and at various locations throughout Scotland. Role and location will be based on skill-set and home location, although some positions may require working away from home.
What you'll be doing
What You'll Be Doing – Project Based
- Assisting the Project Planner with monthly progress updates and progress reporting.
- Considering methods of construction, sequencing and programme logic and advising the Project Planner.
- Preparing short term Programmes and supporting information for review.
- Reconciling direct and subcontract plant & labour along with major materials and assisting with Project Control information.
- Assist the Project Team to timely deliver projects and improve productivity, performance and safety.
What You'll Be Doing – Win Business Based
- You will work with the Planning Lead & Bid Manager to assist with the planning function for a wide range of civils tenders.
- Assist with identifying scope, constraints, risk and contract requirements.
- Consider methods of construction, temporary works requirements, sequencing and programme logic agree with Planning Lead.
- Interfacing with third parties and supply chain to develop proposals.
- Agreeing major quantities, outputs and factors affecting the programme.
- Support the Lead Planner at Tender Settlement Meetings.
- Assist with the preparation of the planning deliverables including tender programmes, planning philosophy, presentations and reports.
- In addition, supporting the Project Based planning requirements on live projects.

Who we're looking for
Who We're Looking For
- Early Career Graduate wishing to pursue a career as a Planner, typically Graduate Engineer to site engineer level.
- An understanding of construction methods, plant, equipment and labour requirements.
- Appropriate training will be given in the use of planning techniques and software such as Primavera P6, Elecosoft Asta and / or Microsoft Project.
- An understanding of various methods of planning, programming and progress monitoring.
- Effective communication, engagement & motivation skills to drive your career development.
