ASSISTANT PORTFOLIO ACCOUNTANT

Rendall & Rittner
competitive
Hybrid - London (Vauxhall)

Role Overview

You will join a high-performing Portfolio Accounting team and be the key support to a Senior Portfolio Accountant / Team Lead, helping to deliver accurate, timely and high-quality accounting services across a portfolio of clients. You will prepare and review service charge reports, process journals and coding, and keep financial records precise and audit-ready, while collaborating closely with colleagues in property management and client services.

Alongside your core portfolio work, you will contribute to priority projects such as utilities supplier reconciliations and other process improvements. This is a great opportunity to deepen your technical knowledge, build client-facing experience and grow within a busy service charge accounting function where your attention to detail, organisation and proactive approach will be valued.

ROLE EXPECTATIONS

You will spend most days working through portfolio accounting tasks, from posting journals and reconciling accounts to validating data and preparing deliverables for client reports and budgets. You will handle queries, follow up on outstanding items, and partner with internal teams and suppliers to keep information flowing and deadlines on track.

What Success Looks Like

  • Client reports and schedules are delivered accurately, completely and on time, with clear supporting documentation.
  • Ledger postings and coding are right first time, with issues identified promptly and resolved proactively.
  • Reconciliations, including utilities supplier accounts, are completed regularly and variances are clearly explained.
  • Queries from clients and colleagues are handled professionally, with timely updates and outcomes.
  • New clients and properties are set up correctly in systems, supporting smooth onboarding and reporting.
  • You contribute ideas that streamline processes, improve data quality and strengthen financial controls.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
