Job Description
Assistant Portfolio Manager - Permanent, Canary Wharf
Hours: 40 per week, Monday to Friday
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support the effective day-to-day management of the development, helping to ensure it is maintained to the appropriate condition and standards
- Assist with ensuring compliance with PMA, lease terms, L&TA, RICS code of conduct, H&S legislation and other legal/professional governance
- Support the management of the estate, buildings and services in accordance with the estate management strategy
- Help identify opportunities for improvement and support the implementation of agreed changes
- Assist with monitoring service charge expenditure to support best value for money for leaseholders
- Support positive working relationships with the Residents Association, wider resident groups and other users of the estate
- Assist with inspections, audits and monitoring of asset performance
- Support site operations in accordance with the company brand and standards
- Support reporting requirements for the wider business and client by preparing information and updates as required
- Assist with H&S compliance by helping maintain records and documentation within Meridian
- Support preparation of the annual service charge budget by collating information and assisting with budget documentation
- Review BvA reports and escalate expenditure risks to the appropriate manager
- Carry out regular property inspections and record the condition of assets for review
- Assist with Section 20 Consultation processes relating to major works and QLTA, escalating queries where required
- Support responses to reasonable management enquiries from the client, colleagues or other parties
- Attend client meetings as required and provide updates or notes to support follow-up actions
- Attend meetings as required at BAML offices or at developments
- Report issues and risks to colleagues and stakeholders as required
- Communicate effectively and professionally with residents
- Support the handling of complaints by recording details, providing updates and escalating matters as required
- Operate in accordance with business policies and SOPs

- Relevant professional qualification such as TPI, RICS (desired)
- Degree educated (desired)
- Numerate & literate - GCSE (or equivalent) English & Math’s at C grade or above
- Knowledge of Health & Safety processes and the implementation of these
- Knowledge and understanding of Landlord & Tenant Act 1985 & RICS Code of Practice
