About The Role
The XPS Risk Settlement team is a fast and exciting growing business area, working alongside trustees and insurers to help navigate schemes through buy-in, buyout and wind-up.
Due to increased demand for our services, we are looking for ambitious, organised individuals to work within our post-transaction team, supporting Post-transaction Project Leads in overseeing the activities required for schemes to true-up after buy-in, buyout and eventually wind-up.
This is a fantastic role for an individual from a DB background looking to expand into project and client management.

Key Responsibilities
Our mission is to help our clients manage the complex issues which impact their pension scheme in a pragmatic and understandable way. Communication is a key part of this.
We advise Trustees and Corporate clients on a wide range of actuarial-related areas, including:
- Helping them to understand the risks within their pension schemes and how they can manage this.
- Supporting Post-Transaction Project Leads in overseeing the activities required following a buy-in transaction through to buyout and eventual wind-up.
- Providing tailored advice on a variety of aspects including funding and member options.
- Analysing new and changing legislation, regulation, and guidance to help clients understand what it means for their scheme and what actions they need to take.
- Supporting the governance of the pension scheme to ensure it is effectively and efficiently run for the ultimate benefit of the members.
- Advising Corporates on the pension’s elements of their statutory accounts.
- Providing solutions to the complex area of GMP Rectification & Equalisation.

The main responsibilities of this role are supporting Project Leads with setting-up and maintaining project documentation e.g. Project Initiation Documents, Project Plans, Highlight Reports, Risk and Issue Logs.
- Documenting/following up actions with internal and external parties.
- Facilitating meetings, agendas and meeting minutes.
- Managing workstreams within large projects/ your own smaller projects.
- Producing management reporting.
Due to the changing nature of the business, the job holder may from time to time be required to undertake other activities of a similar nature that fall within their capabilities.
Essential
Your Profile:
- Experience of working with Defined Benefit Pension
- IT proficient in MS Office
- Excellent organisational and planning skills.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills to all levels.
- Ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities.
- Able to take ownership and responsibility for own work.
- Ability to create and manage documentation.
- Flexible approach to work pressures.
- Good problem-solving skills.
- A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong belief in adhering to deadlines and quality service.
- Effective interpersonal skills, ability to communicate and build long-term working relationships at all levels, both internal and external of the organisation.

- Experience in project-based work is desirable.
- Proficient in use of MS Project
- Advanced MS Excel capabilities
