Job Opportunity at Hazelwood

Are you a motivated practitioner who possesses excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills and want to provide Gold Standard care to our patients? Then this exciting opportunity is for you!

Hazelwood are looking for an Assistant Practitioner, who has a passion for providing high quality patient focused care who have a flexible attitude towards work and a desire for new challenges.

About the Role

On Hazelwood you will care for patients with respiratory illnesses and general medical conditions, you will learn to care for patients with long term respiratory conditions such as COPD, Interstitial Lung Disease, type 1 respiratory failure and type 2 respiratory failure.

We are focused on delivering an excellent service and welcome anyone passionate about providing outstanding care and compassion to our patients.

General Duties

  • Physiological observations and investigations.
  • Developing an in-depth knowledge of:
    • Oxygen therapy
    • Blood gas interpretation
    • Wound management
    • Chest drain
    • Fluid balance management
  • Providing personal care to patients.

As a Band 4 you will receive direct support from senior nursing colleagues to develop and enhance your skills. This will enable you to nurse a cohort of patients and be responsible for their care.
