Opportunity for an Assistant Principal at Lift Bexleyheath

We have an opportunity for an Assistant Principal to join our Senior Leadership Team at Lift Bexleyheath, with a key focus on behaviour and attendance.

About The Role

As an Assistant Principal and key member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will play an important role in shaping a positive, inclusive and aspirational culture where every child can thrive. Leading on behaviour and attendance, you will work with colleagues, students, families and the wider school community to ensure high expectations are consistently upheld, and every student is supported to achieve their best.

You will provide confident and visible leadership, embedding effective pastoral systems and ensuring that behaviour and attendance are a shared priority across the school. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will see leadership as an opportunity to be of service to others, enabling colleagues to do their best work, removing barriers and helping the whole school community to thrive. You will also line manage a number of teaching and support colleagues, providing clear direction, developing their practice and creating opportunities for them to grow and succeed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on behaviour and attendance: Develop and deliver effective strategies that improve attendance, promote positive behaviour and ensure students are supported to make the most of their education.
  • Build a positive school culture: Promote high expectations and create a safe, respectful and inclusive environment where students feel valued, supported and able to succeed.
  • Provide strong leadership: Contribute to the development and delivery of the school improvement plan, providing clear direction and supporting colleagues to achieve shared goals.
  • Develop and support colleagues: Line manage staff effectively through regular coaching, feedback, appraisal and professional development, helping colleagues to develop their skills and reach their potential.
  • Use data effectively: Analyse attendance, behaviour, progress and attainment data to identify priorities, monitor impact and put targeted interventions in place where needed.
  • Work in partnership with families and agencies: Build positive relationships with parents and carers and work effectively with external agencies to support students' attendance, behaviour, wellbeing and achievement.
  • Supporting safeguarding and student wellbeing: Working alongside the Designated Safeguarding Lead to provide visible leadership for safeguarding across the school, ensuring robust systems, processes and practice are in place to keep children and young people safe.
  • Whole School Improvement Projects: Alongside leading on behaviour and attendance, you will take responsibility for two additional whole school improvement projects, providing strategic leadership and driving meaningful improvement across the school.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
