Assistant Probate Manager

As Assistant Probate Manager, you will take full responsibility for the end to end administration of a book of probate cases, providing a first-class service to beneficiaries and Legal Personal Representatives (‘LPRs’). Support with some administration tasks is provided by a dedicated support team.

You may also be required, on occasion, to attend face to face meetings with beneficiaries/LPRs. This will involve explaining our service including fees and collecting and collating the financial paperwork of the deceased.

Key Accountabilities

  • Full responsibility for the end to end administration of a book of probate cases varying in complexity. This will include some complex cases e.g. they are taxable, estates including agricultural, business and overseas assets and estates where we are on notice of a claim.
  • Needs to be able to act largely independently and be proactive in driving matters forward, through effective prioritisation of workload, to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of quality service.
  • Strong client relationship/communication skills as regular, quality communications with vulnerable beneficiaries/clients is a key part of the role.
  • There may be some supervision of less experienced team members.
  • Needs to be a team player with ability to actively identify and implement business initiatives for process improvement.
  • Accurate record keeping (including time recording) and preparation of estate accounts using the preferred estate administration package.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
