Assistant Producer

Gramafilm
Permanent · Full Time
London

About Gramafilm

We are a London production studio; suppliers of storytelling to the world's iconic brands since 2008. Our work spans brand films, campaign systems, tech, healthcare and pharma content, and large format live and as live shows. Storytelling is at the heart of everything we do.

We're a small dog-friendly team working out of Old Street and you can find out more about us at gramafilm.com

The Role

We are looking for an Assistant Producer who is close to being a Producer. Someone with three or more years behind them who can already run a smaller job end to end, and who wants the next step with us rather than somewhere else.

You will report to our Head of Production and work alongside our Producers and Directors across the full run of a project: the brief landing, the pitch, the schedule, the shoot, the edit, delivery.

The job is to remove uncertainty. For the client, for the crew, for the person in front of the camera, and for the team around you.

This is a permanent, full time position.

What You Will Do

  • Support our Head of Production and producers across all stages of production

  • Pre-production

    • Build and maintain schedules, call sheets, risk assessments and production books.
    • Source and book crew, kit, locations, studios, talent and travel; negotiate rates and hold options.
    • Run clearances, licences, permits, insurance and release forms; keep usage and music rights clean and recorded.
    • Cost up jobs with the Producer and keep the budget tracker current as things move.
    • Pull references, recces, mood and casting options to support the Director's treatment.
  • Schedule project wide meetings and keep everyone working to the same dates.

  • Shoot

    • Run the production floor on smaller jobs; support the Producer on the larger ones.
    • Support the team and keep projects on schedule.
  • Post and delivery

    • Track the edit against the schedule; prepare review links, versions and client feedback in one place.
    • Coordinate grade, sound, music, VFX, subtitles and localisation.
    • Manage deliverables, specs and platform versions; chase the final approvals.
    • Reconcile the budget, close purchase orders and get the job archived properly.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

  • Keep the project tidy and organised throughout: folders, file naming, versions and access in order, so anyone can pick the job up.
  • Across everything
    • Keep clients informed before they have to ask.
    • Support pitches and brief responses with costings, scheduling logic and research.
    • Keep our paperwork, templates and supplier records in good order.

Who We Are Looking For

  • Three or more years in production, agency side or client side, with credits you can talk us through. You have supported shoots and post before and you have owned deliverables on your own.
  • You are comfortable with a budget. You can build a schedule that survives contact with a client, and you know which line to protect when the money moves.
  • You write clearly and you answer quickly. Clients should never be wondering where something is.
  • You are calm when a day is going sideways, and you tell people the truth about it early.
  • You have taste. You can look at a cut or a frame and say something useful about why it is or is not working.
  • You are organised in a way other people can pick up: files named properly, versions clear, notes where the next person will find them.

Useful, Not Essential

None of these will rule you out. All of them are interesting to us.

Growing With Us

We are hiring this role as a step towards Producer.

What that looks like in practice: you will be given your own smaller jobs to run, with a Producer behind you rather than in front of you. You will sit in on pitches and client conversations from the start. You will be in the room for the post mortems, including the ones on work that did not land, because that is where most of the learning is.

We will tell you plainly how you are doing and what would move you forward.

How to Apply

Send us a CV and a short note. In the note, tell us about one production you worked on where something went wrong, and what you did about it. We will read that before we read the CV.

If you have credits online, send the links. A showreel is welcome but not required; we are more interested in what you were responsible for than in the finished grade.

We are an equal opportunities employer and we want applications from people who have not had an obvious route into this industry. If you need any adjustment to the process, tell us and we will sort it.
