The opportunity
Join Bloomsbury’s dynamic and friendly Product Innovation team and contribute to the ongoing development of our globally respected academic digital resources. This Assistant Product Manager role offers a fantastic opportunity to work at the heart of Bloomsbury Digital Resources, supporting the delivery and improvement of our Humanities and Social Sciences digital products.
You’ll play a crucial part in ensuring our platforms continue to meet the needs of academic users worldwide—coordinating content releases, supporting platform enhancements, and working cross-functionally to deliver high-quality digital experiences. This role is perfect for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisation skills, and an eagerness to grow within digital product management.
The main purpose of this role is to manage products and platforms from Bloomsbury’s Academic digital portfolio, ensuring that they continue to meet market needs, through delivering timely product launches, content updates, and functional enhancements.
The role can be based in London or Oxford and the application close date is 23:59 Monday August 10th 2026.
Key responsibilities include:
Product Execution:
- Manage and track schedules for content releases, enhancements, and platform updates. Work with internal colleagues and external suppliers to ensure smooth workflows and timely delivery.
- Upload, test, and maintain high-quality content across our platforms. Oversee metadata collection, indexing, and refinement, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
Discovery and Customer Insight:
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and UX teams to gather and analyze user feedback through various research methods to drive product improvements.
- Use platform analytics (e.g., GA4) to generate actionable insights on product performance, sharing findings with stakeholders to inform product development.
- Work with UX and Discovery colleagues to ensure our platforms meet user expectations and industry standards.

Product Strategy and Vision:
- Supporting the research and analysis to help define product requirements from stakeholders; translating them into clear, actionable specifications for development teams.
- Contribute to product roadmaps and strategy by conducting market and competitor analysis and identifying opportunities for innovation that align with business objectives.
- Help champion products and platforms across the business, responding to queries, tracking bugs, and supporting copy, design, and navigation updates.
Innovation and process enhancement:
- Support discussions around new features, content types, taxonomies, and accessibility improvements.
- Identify inefficiencies, suggest refinements, and explore AI-driven workflow enhancements to support continuous improvement across the team.
Knowledge, skills and experience
- Experience of leading projects and working independently.
- Comfortable working with digital systems and content (Jira, XML, CMS; knowledge of HTML a plus, but not essential).
- Quick to learn new processes and tools.
- Excellent communication and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
- Proactive approach, with enthusiasm for developing within product management.
- Experience of analysing producing usage reports and analysing usage data is desirable, but not essential.

Additional information
Salary: £32,000 or £34,000 per annum
Starting: As soon as possible
Contract: Full-time, permanent.
Location: 50 Bedford Square, London, WC1B 3DP or Kemp House, Chawley Park, Oxford, OX2 9PH
Hybrid-working: 2 days per week: Wednesdays and Thursdays
