Assistant Professor (Clinical), Department of Critical Care Medicine (C1-260729)

We are seeking a professional with a proven track record of excellent patient care, a passion for medical education, and strong interpersonal skills. Prospective candidates with a background in any relevant medical field, provided their expertise aligns with the division’s strategic goals, will be considered.

The successful candidate will also be expected to:

• Provide high-quality adult critical care with the CIUSSS ODIM ICUs, including participation in the on-call schedule
• Contribute to the academic activities across the Critical Care Department-affiliated hospitals
• Develop and maintain an academic profile aligned with their respective position
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and allied health professionals

The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission (e.g., teaching, supervision of graduate students and residents, research, and involvement in academic and administrative committees).

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Candidates must:

• Hold an MD degree and must hold, or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec
• Have completed subspecialty training in Critical Care Medicine
• Be certified in Critical Care Medicine by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent)
• Be certified by the Collège des médecins du Québec
• Have completed, or are in the process of completing subspecialty training in Adult Critical Care Medicine
• Demonstrate excellence in, and commitment to, clinical care and academic medicine
• Demonstrate an interest in inclusive teaching
• Possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills
• Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
