The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at Coventry University and the University of Warwick as the Programme's Clinical Lead. This well-established doctoral programme is delivered through a unique partnership between Coventry University, the University of Warwick, Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust, a range of NHS provider organisations, and NHS England. The programme is dedicated to developing reflective, compassionate, and highly skilled clinical psychologists, while fostering excellence, innovation, and leadership in clinical psychology education and training.

The successful postholder will report to and work in collaboration with the Programme Director who holds overall leadership for the course. They will work alongside the Research Lead and Academic Leads, as well as being part of a team providing high-quality education and supervision to the trainees.

Duties Include

  • Leadership of all matters related to clinical placement activity for all year groups
  • Oversight and coordination of existing clinical placement allocation and leading the development of new clinical placements required for the trainees on the Doctorate
  • Leadership of placements for one year group including providing support and mentorship to clinical tutors
  • Liaison with external stakeholders including placement supervisors and placement planning

Qualifications Required

Essential

  • A Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (DClinPsy) or equivalent.
  • Registration with the HCPC as a Practitioner Psychologist.
  • Experience supervising DClin Trainees

Desirable

  • Expertise in any clinical psychology specialty or theoretical model will be considered, with additional accreditations or certifications being advantageous.
  • PhD and active membership of an appropriate professional body would be advantageous.
  • Experience of supervising Doctoral level and/or PhD research projects

Applicants will also possess exceptional knowledge of psychological therapies theory and practice, expertise in doctoral-level supervision, and outstanding communication and organizational skills.

Please note, NHS Agenda for Change salary band 8b will be matched for this role using a market supplement payment. This role is available for up to 0.8 FTE, although we welcome applications from candidates interested in working lower hours. NHS secondments can be considered for this role.
